Claims Helpers are trained in trauma-informed and culturally grounded practice. They listen, explain the steps in easy-to-understand language, and can help you understand what information is needed.Phone and video appointments offer a private space to ask questions, understand the Claim Form, and prepare a Statement in a way that feels safe.

Hiring a Lawyer

You can hire your own lawyer. If you receive compensation, the lawyer who assisted you can request their legal fees be paid by the Government of Canada.

Indigenous Services Canada provides dedicated cultural and emotional support services for those affected by the Settlement.
