Compensation is available for physical, verbal, psychological, and/or sexual abuse that occurred while admitted to a Federal Indian Hospital while it was operated by the Government of Canada. The Settlement does not provide compensation for medical malpractice or claims related medical treatment.
Only Primary Class Members are eligible for compensation.
Primary Class Members are individuals who were admitted to a listed Federal Indian Hospital and experienced abuse during their time there. If the person passed away on or after January 25, 2016, a Claim may still be submitted on their behalf by their Estate or Heir to the Estate.
